PETZL FOUNDATION AND SQUAMISH MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL PARTNER WITH
ACCESS PAN AMERICA FOR FIRST EVER HEMISPHERIC ACCESS MEETING
AUGUST 12-16, 2009

The Squamish meeting will be the largest gathering of activists working on climbing access and conservation ever held. Access Pan America/Petzl will bring together activists from all the Americas to create the only organization dedicated exclusively to protecting climber access in the Western Hemisphere.
The meetings are open, all climbers are welcome and urged to participate, and the meeting sponsors, such as the Petzl Foundation, will provide travel scholarships to bring access activists from all the Americas to Squamish.
Go to our Forum page to discuss the meeting, to apply for a travel scholarship, to nominate someone we should include in the meeting, and most important to begin talking about the status of climber access and need to get organized.

about the festival:

The event will highlight Squamish and climbing within the context of clinics, speakers, competitions, international adventure films, volunteer trail maintenance days, and of course, huuuuge raging parties.

SQUMF 2009 is trying to make this a really enviro-friendly festival so try to help out by bringing your own cup, car pooling and keeping the trails clean.
