Paul McSorley:

Assistant Rock and Assistant Alpine Guide, BA
Paul first tied into a rope in 1992 and visited Squamish five years later. He’s been coming back ever since and now spends summers on the coast and winters travelling abroad or shivering in the Canadian Rockies. He considers himself an "all-rounder", but admits he still needs to work on his sport climbing to properly claim that title.

What Paul enjoys most in rock climbing is scaling towers. He claims the height and length are irrelevant - it’s the aesthetic appeal of topping out on such a dramatic formation that matters most. Paul also finds guiding and teaching very satisfying because it allows him to share his passion with others and offer them the possibility of fresh experiences.

Climbing has introduced Paul to an amazing variety of people and taken him to exotic corners of the world; an expedition to Pakistan, mountain safety work in the Middle East, three trips to Patagonia as well as some civilized alpine climbing in the French Alps. Apart from climbing Paul enjoys soul food cooking, music, photography, Frisbee golf and thrashing (hopelessly) on a surfboard.

Paul will be teaching;
Bouldering Basics on Saturday, July 19
Alpine Rock Climbing on Sunday, July 20
