Day 5 - Dyno Comp
Day 5 of the festival and time to recover from last nights "Tight and Bright" party and sit in the shade to watch those who still have energy left, participate in the Dyno comp. A competition wall was provided by Flashed, built to the exact specification of the World Cup Wall and placed outside the Adventure Centre, where an enthusiastic crowd gathered to watch, cheer and encourage the few men and woman who were strong enough, supple enough and had energy enough to test their climbing skills against each other. It wasn't as good a turn out in the woman's category as last year but two gals battled it out and eventually Lauren Lee was able to Dyno to a height of 1.95m, and Audrey Sniezek took second place. The men's competition was a tight battle to the end when Steve Townsend lept with style for a competition winning Dyno of 2.6m. Jeremy Smith and Gabriel Mock took second and third places respectively. For me it was the perfect ending to what has been a great festival. I've been inspired at every level, whether it's been during a clinic or listening to one of the many speakers re-tell their climbing adventures and I hope to take that feeling with me when I head out on my next climb, where ever that may be.
